Decoratively wrapping a chocolate bar is not a new Valentine’s Day gift idea, but I think it’s a classic. I think it is a classic gift because…
–The gift itself never goes out of style. Who doesn’t want a chocolate bar?
–You wrap and decorate the chocolate bar the way YOU like it (or that you know the other person likes), so it is a personalized gift.
–It’s inexpensive, fast and easy.
–It’s a great kid’s craft. Kid’s can easily make them for family or friends and express their creativity in the process.
I also think it is an easy, handmade gift for any occasion or holiday. Decoratively wrapped chocolate bars make a quick and easy thank you gift. Need a little bigger gift for the occasion? You could gift wrap more than one chocolate bar. You can wrap them individually or wrap two or three chocolate bars together!
They mention purchasing chocolate bars that have the gold or silver paper lining underneath the main chocolate bar wrapper. This is a nice tip, but certainly not necessary. I’ve seen regular chocolate bars wrapped up very nicely, so don’t feel pressure to spend more on the chocolate than you have in your budget.
The video below gives you instructions and tips for creating this easy, handmade, personalized Valentine’s Day gift. The video also has a great idea for a “fingerprint heart” that is a nice touch!
I have a chocolate bar in my cupboard right now that is calling to me to be decorated…
